Balthasar is a Mercedes Vario 814D, 4×4 from the year 2000. In its previous life it used to be a blue coloured maintenance truck in Germany. We spotted this beautiful beast waiting for a new owner at Camperpoint and with the amazing work of Camperpoint’s owner Martijn it was converted into the yellow adventure mobile called Balthasar.
Ballie, as we often call him, has all the basics we need for our overland trip: an 80L watertank, 2 rooftop solar panels, 2 household batteries, a fixed bed, a wet room with shower and portable toilet, a 65L compressor fridge with freezer, 2 gas stoves and just too much of our stuff.
It is the smallest and slowest house we ever owned but we are very proud parents! Balthasar (one of the three wise men from the East, the protector of travellers, according to the myths) has a lot of power and loves to go up hills, mountains and forrest roads but can only comfortably drive 90 km/h so we are taking it slow and steady.
This Must Be The Pace.
